Helping Yourself
It’s a simple request. Make bologna sandwiches for a nearby food bank.
Then you get the instructions about the type of bread to use. The cheese must be individually wrapped American cheese slices. The bologna goes between the two slices of bread with the still-wrapped cheese slice placed on the top. Then into individual plastic bags.
Or, bring all these items to a central collection point and let someone else handle the construction chores.
Photographers have only one choice. There isn’t a central construction point for making good photos. You’ve got to perform each individual task yourself. There’s no handing the camera or lens or tripod or light to someone else and having them construct the moment.
You’ve got to do it yourself and it’s as satisfying as helping someone else because the photo is always about your subject, never yourself.
PhotoCamp Daily is always free! But you can pledge support if you so desire.
