I was reminded several days ago by a good friend about a photo I’ve wanted to make since we first met more than a quarter of a century ago. (That sounds like it has more weight and is heftier than 25 years ago.)

I’m still trying. Mainly because it’s not a photo that happens very often. Maybe only three days a year and even then I’m bound by the vagaries of weather and the subjects being in the right place, proper alignment, and, of course, the light.

It’s not important what the subject(s) is/are. It’s important it’s a long-term goal with so many small steps to get there.

After more than a quarter of a century, I’ve observed each of the items in the photo so many times I’ve learned how little I know about each. Maybe that’s the lesson in my task for this one photo. The lessons learned.
