It's got to be right
It would be nice if things were always perfect. Maybe not.
I’ve always thought that perfection is a figment of the imagination, an ancient Sisyphean objective perhaps attained only in death as written by Japanese philosopher Yukio Mishima.
My instructions to photographers struggling to meet a ten-minute deadline to process film, make a print, write, and attach a caption to make the next open transmission window were simple and direct.
“It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s got to be right. Work on perfection on your own time.”
