Brandenburg earns Lifetime Achievement Award
Chased by the Light and Looking for the Summer are two remarkable books by Jim Brandenburg.
Chased by the Light is an exploration of committing to a photo a day for 90 days. Only one photo a day. Exposing only one frame a day. On film. Within walking distance of his home.
Brandenburg announced that National Geographic presented him with its Lifetime Achievement Award.
“I am quite humbled to have received the Lifetime Achievement Award from my colleagues at the National Geographic magazine. The Photo Society, comprised of two hundred of the magazine’s photographers spanning 3 generations, surprised me with this announcement. To belong to the group the photographer must have done serious photographic feature assignment work for the magazine.”
There are two versions of Chased by the Light. The first edition can only be found in a used bookstore. It is far superior to any reprints and to the newer version that has the added title of “Revisited.”
