Making It Easy
I’m often troubled that today’s photos will look just like yesterday’s photos and the day before that’s photos, and on and on ad infinitum.
Then again, I almost wet myself when a local shopping center made an upgrade adding a Dollar Tree store in perfect alignment with the temporary Christmas tree sale lot in front.
How can you not make this photo at least once a year?
About a week ago I made a photo of the supermoon rising behind the bovine-shaped weather vane at the peak of a local hospital office building. I’ve made a similar photo, or at least tried, almost every year with some success and the result being the published photo for the day.
Despite having made the photo many times before there is always someone who hasn’t seen that view as there was for this year’s photo. Even family reacted with surprise seeing it. Especially in the days of algorithms selecting what it thinks you might like.
Not everyone thinks you are important enough to want to see you every day. You’ve got to work at making the photos important enough that your photos want to be seen every day. It’s not about you. It’s about the photos.
I’ll be back at the Christmas tree lot this year, looking for new, different, and better. Both for me and for my readers. I can almost guarantee it will have the Dollar Tree store as the background.
