Sketching Ideas
Shuffled throughout my very large collection of photos sit some unusual creations.
These three are among them.
An unusual triptych of colorful geometric patterns of use to no one but the photographer who made them.
A clothing triptych.
A quadriptych with unknown subjects.
Patterned bacon.
Nothing in common other than they are in color as opposed to yesterday’s black and white photos. I’m going to mark these as sketches, moments of exploration, creations that suggest but don’t complete, shapes that measure but don’t define, and subjects that are familiar yet foreign.
Sketches preparing for excellence in an unrelated creation. Sketches defining a following moment. Sketches of little direct importance but essential for something that comes later.
Don’t think of your sketches as anything other than necessary for something not yet defined or explored.
