Then, In The End.
We all have grandmother stories.
“Grandma Arnie never drove a car” is the opening line in the book yet to be written about my grandmother.
There are stories of grit, survival, determination, joy, anger, disappointment, excitement, surprise, and food on the dining room table.
She told fanciful stories, stories difficult to believe, and stories that touched on everything but her three husbands and what happened to them. She told stories just by living.
I think a lot about Grandma Arnie and her stories. I have a list named “The Things That Grandma said.”
Things like “That baby’s god the epizooty” and “That dress is so short you can see her gofetchit.”
I'm not sure what my grandchildren will remember of me or what the first line of the book they may one day write about me.
I hope it begins with “Remember that photo he took of … ?”
